Uncharted will be one of the Sony exclusive franchises available in the new PS Plus. Microsoft does have a $1 a month three-month deal for new members, and this gets you all the highest tier features. The high-end costs $14.99 which translates to about $180. Game Pass crucially does not offer annual pricing, so this comes out to a little under $120 for a year of Game Pass.
Similarly, the regular version of Game Pass will run you $9.99 monthly. Paying the $9.99 price tag means you get fewer benefits compared to members who shell out for the high-end price. The disparity in price - twice the amount for the high-end - comes down to the new way Sony organizes the entire service.
The new PS Plus has a low-end price of $9.99 monthly or $59.99 yearly, and a high end of $17.99 monthly or $119.99 yearly. Here’s a closer look at what differentiates the two services. The biggest change is the inclusion of many features that were once part of PS Now, making PS Plus a stronger Game Pass contender. While PS Plus has had some rollout problems in other countries, the service is set to launch in the U.S. So while we might consider Empire of Sin a fairly bad fit for PS Plus Extra today, it did join the service before that bar for quality was firmly established. For example, the launch line-up also contained a game like Fluster Cluck, which was quite negatively received - nothing remotely comparable has come to PS Plus since. For clarity's sake: Empire of Sin joined PS Plus Extra at launch back in July 2022, and I think it's fair to say the quality standard of games in the launch line-up was considerably lower than anything that has joined PS Plus Extra in the 12 months since. Now I am obligated to pretend it's definitely worthy of that spot in the Game Catalog before the premise of this entire article starts falling apart at the seams. At least, that's what I thought before realizing that Empire of Sin is already available on PS Plus Extra. Empire of SinWell, with its middling critical opinion and rather shallow strategic gameplay, I would never personally expect those Empire of Sin trophies to make it onto PS Plus.
